My Sweet Mom

Mother's day will be bittersweet this year. It will be the first Mother's day in a long while that I will be spending with my kids, Taylor and Tyson. It will also be the first Mother's day I will celebrate without my mom. My mom died on Easter from Alzheimer's.

I haven't been able to communicate with mom for some time because of her disease. I feel like I can talk to her now. I know she is with my little sister in Heaven surrounded by horses, dogs, cats and lots of donkeys.
Love you Mom.

I wish everyone a blessed and wonderful Mother's day.

Ki,
This mother's day is bittersweet for sure-- I lost my mom 12 years ago, and it is always difficult. The best thing for you is knowing where she is--HEAVEN.
Enjoy the time with your kiddos-- and happy mother's day to ya!

I think once are parents aren't "here" physically with us, they are always a part of us, especially in our hearts. I lost my Dad to Alzheimer's on Valentine's Day a few years ago. I know he is in a better place know, and he is free of that disease! Thinking of you.

Take care, Sue

Thanks for all your sweet notes. I don't always share my personal struggles on my blog and was debating whether or not to write about my mom's passing. I am glad I did. It is so nice to hear from everyone and know you understand.
Blessings,
Ki

I checked your blog today and was very sorry to learn of your mom's passing. My own sweet mom is suffering with Alzheimer's. It's such a heartbreaking disease. I try to be thankful that she is still with me, but witnessing what this cruel disease does is so painful. Knowing others have managed this loss helps me gain a little more courage. Blessings to you, Ki, on this Mother's Day.

So sorry for your loss. As I, too have discovered, there really is nothing quite like losing your mother. I am glad you were able to spend the time with your children, however and hope you made many new Mother's Day memories together.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I live in fear my mother's heart will give out anytime. From the photos, your mom reminds me of mine, she loved donkeys and loved the fact that many cattle people here in Texas had them in with the cattle which meant that many were saved from the slaughter houses. They run the coyotes away! Brave donkeys! ANyway, loved the photos! xo-cindy
