Big News.

As many of you know, my life has taken a few unexpected junk turns in the past year. It just took another. My last Cool Junk column for Country Home magazine will be this December. I suspect you will see a few of my projects popping up from time to time as they have been archived. (I will let you know when they do.)

I will be freelancing while looking for a new magazine home. If any of you have a neighbor, that has a brother, that is married to a woman, that has a friend, that works for a magazine, that is looking for a junk expert...let me know!

I would like to thank the folks at the Country Home for giving me the opportunity to share my junk wisdom, reuse philosophy, ideas, projects, and travels with the world. A sincere thanks to the loyal readers that cheered JunkMarket on over the years. Your enthusiasm has been overwhelming. I can't put into words how much your support has meant to me. ( I have been struggling for a while here at the keyboard trying to do just that.)

I will miss working with Country Home, but look forward to seeing what is around the next turn.

Stay tuned as my journey continues.
Peace,
Ki

  2. Ki ~ I too look for your projects first when I receive my Country Home every month. I am so disappointed your great talent will no longer be seen regularly there.

On an upbeat note, I am anxiously awaiting Junk Revolution to be open for business! I am also sure magazine Execs will be snagging you quickly once the word gets out you're ready for hire!

    Keep on Junkin'

  3. Dear Ki,
I would subscribe to Junk Camp Magazine!!! I would love to see your projects and junk shopping advice in your very own magazine. As the world goes a little greener there is a need for this type of publication.
Tell me where to send my check.

  4. I was going to ask you to publish your own magazine, but Linda beat me to it.

As one door closes, another one opens. Can't wait to see what is behind the next door for ya.

  5. I'm sorry to hear you won't be in the magazine regularly, I love seeing what you're doing, the ideas you have, etc. I was so glad to have found your blog, ever since that first magazine came out, I've loved all that. I had even written a letter to the magazine at the time asking when more were coming out. Like someone else said, another door opens. Kinda like being a young girl, not knowing who you'll marry or where you'll meet. Then you go along, and out he pops LOL. Looking forward to continuing to see what's going on with you! Karen

  8. Ki, I am so. so very sad to hear that. You are one of the highlights of the magazine for me and really why I subscribed. I'm sure they will have some unhappy readers. You are very talented and like someone already said, when won door closes, another one opens. My prayers go with you!

I am so glad you are a voice for us finders and gatherers...you have such style AND grace!
You now choose the "path less traveled by" - and that will make all the difference.
I look forward to seeing all you will bring to the days, months & years ahead.
    Thanks,
    Kari

  10. Ki~

Your positive attitude and graciousness are just two of the reasons I admire you.
You will be missed in Country Home. Why do new editors mess with success?
Two days and counting until the Revolution begins.
    Congratulations and good luck!

  11. Hi Ki!

I must say that for whatever reason you are no longer writing for Country Home...that is their loss! Obviously your path has come to a fun-filled crossroad and whichever path you take will be full of fun & adventure. I have loved all your books and look forward to maybe another one???? or as other's have suggested...your own mag? :)

Good luck sweetie....and know that you have many friends out there cheering you on! xo..deb

  14. NO WAY! Even us junkers down under in Australia can't wait for our Country Home issue to arrive (usually a month late!) just to see Ki's amazing repurpose projects.
Please keep us in the loop down under about what you are up to next...with creativity, talent and awesome ideas like yours, we know it's gonna be BIG!
    Blessings,

  15. Ki - My friend and I are longtime readers of Country Home and looked forward to your articles and finds over the years. We would often refer to your crafts in our phone conversations. I met you in Atlanta a couple of years ago at the flea market and enjoyed spending some time with you guys. I wear my junkmaster t-shirt is wearing out, and I wish I had another! Good luck with whatever comes your way. -- Michele

  17. You know the magazine just won't be same with out. And, while most of us don't like change, I hate to say I've been a little displeased with the changes of my once fav magazine. Maybe it will just take me some time to adapt to the newness! I wish you the best of luck in all you do. I'm sure you'll be a great success.
