It Never Gets Old!

Okay I know this is sorta dorky, but it is still exciting to see my team's hard work in print. I had my daughter, Taylor, take this photo of me today at my local newsstand on Larchmont in LA. I have been known to move Flea Market Style to a more visible location on the racks since it often gets lost behind the big names that pay for prime location. (I doubt that the vendor appreciates my rearranging.)

I am still waiting for my copies from the publisher so had to fork over retail dollars to have one of my own. Geez!

Hope you have had a chance to find yours. Be sure to check out the FMS blog for where to find.
Cheers,
Ki

  6. I just got mine today. It's the BEST magazine I've bought in a long time...and I buy a lot!! The photos are great and good sizes. Each topic is covered well...not just a tease. I've only looked through it, I can't wait to go back and read every word. It's so nice to recognize "friends" from the blog world!

  7. Ki-
I just left comment on FMS blog!!!! I don't think this is a bit dorky at all! You should be proud! Awesome! I have looked, and searched, and admired every single page. Good job, you really are an incredible woman! Love your pics. My mom and I both had to purchase 2 copies each(1 for each of us- we would otherwise be fighting over who gets to look first, then other for friends! Exciting time for you! Heather too!
    Cheers to you

  10. I FINALLY found one today and am eager to delve into it! Congrats on your continued success—the fact that it's been sold out everywhere I go is testament to its draw! Even the cashier exclaimed "How have I not seen this?!?" I'll do a review post tomorrow!

Good tip about re-arranging. I'll be sure to do that!

  11. Congrats to you and the team. I was at Barnes and Noble today in Philadelphia and couldn't find one yet. (Though that location is notorious for being late stocking new titles). I hope to get a copy very soon!

  12. Hi Ki,
I can't WAIT to get my copy. In fact, I almost pulled off of the MA pike last night on my way home from Boston to grab one, but realized it was 10:00 p.m. and being a crazy nut banging on the door saying, "But, I need my copy of Flea Market Style!!!" would not go over well! So today I am off to grab one! Have a great day...such a great photo! I hope you can visit Boston Bee sometime. I am into painting Goodwill furniture and LOVE it! Before and After's are the best! Thanks for all that YOU do! ;)Alyssa of Boston Bee

  19. When I worked in publishing (as an assistant to an assistant) it was a thrill each time to walk past a display and know my name was on the inside cover. I think it is fabulous you move your publication to the front. We should all be proud of our work.

  27. Oh my gosh, I laughed when you said you rearrange the magazine displays. I do the same thing...my husband just shakes his head and says they should pay me extra for doing marketing too! hehe FMS is always great and this issue is no exception!

  28. I excitedly picked up 'Flea Market Style' in spite of it's hefty price tag--wow--but... so worth it! This puppy is PACKED with exciting ideas. One huge problem, though; so much eye candy, I'm taking an enormous amount of time to get through the magazine. I've only gotten as far as the first few pages and I've mentally redecorated just about every room in my house including my front porch and yard! Love it!

  29. Oh, BTW, I love it that you 'rearrange' your magazine. I do that sort of thing also, but I grab the nasty men's mags and turn them around so nobody can find them! I am also a organizer fiend and I always tidy up the magazines...grab any out of place and put 'em where they oughta be! Truly, I would like to be in charge of the magazines.

  30. Tooo funny....I always move it to the front of the stand too in order to promote more flea market and thrift lovers!
