My Dad.

"It is a beautiful day on the farm!" My dad is a happy man. He taught me how to appreciate life despite its tragedies, pain, set backs, and inconveniences. He is my model for enjoying the journey. I've been told I look at life through rose colored glasses. My dad gave them those glasses when I was a little girl. He taught me life is a precious gift and to never take it for granted.

My dad is a wise man. Glad I listened to him. It is a beautiful day on the farm!
Peace,
Ki

  5. Ki,

You ARE blessed to still have both your parents. I was a "late" child (mom had me at 40) and both my folks are gone. It's weird, but even at 52, I feel like an orphan....Ask anyone that has lost both their folks and they'll tell you the same......

I won't bore you with the details of my childhood-but the dad that raised me wasn't my "bio" dad. But he gave me so much! So many good memories!

He taught me to fish, crab, he took me camping, and he always gave a "leg up" to those that needed it.He was a contractor that always "took in strays" that worked for us while on break from College or in the Military. I had lots of extra "family."
He grew up a poor/hungry homestead child in Montana, joined the military illegally at 17 and served in the Navy for 22 years. He died prosperous and left a legacy for all us kids.

But, most importantly to me was that he always told me that I could do anything! For a young girl growing up in the 60's that meant a lot! I could choose my own path. And I did.

We weren't "blood," but he was my Daddy. I just hope he knows now in the afterlife how much he gave to me.
